Access to the lake can be a bit of challenge do to the limited parking at the only access point. It’s within within Devils Fork State Park. On weekends it can be a difficult to secure parking if you arrive much later than early morning. The benefit to this is after a short paddle you’ll have the entire place to yourself for paddling and swimming. There are several waterfalls you can paddle to as well.

On a recent fall camping trip, members of the NCSUPA did a several night camping trip at the park campground and enjoyed days of stunning paddles along the coves and exposed beaches of the lake.
